耳鼻科と泌尿器科の違い、それは泌尿器科単科での開業が難しいこと。

私は皮膚泌尿器科で開業するため、開業準備で皮膚科の勉強をしました。

でも、読んだ教科書は日本語のものだけ。国際皮膚科学会なんてのにも出たことがありません。

昨日は、英語が母国語の患者さんが来院されました。数ヶ月前に泌尿器科の病気で来られた事があり、その時は英語で診察しました。

でも昨日は、手足の急性湿疹。何かにかぶれたんでしょう。治療はステロイド外用薬でいいはずです。

なぜ皮膚炎が起きたのかの説明を求められました。

説明しようとしても、皮膚科の単語が出てきません。

I cannnot explane the mechanism, because of my poor English.

しか言えませんでした。付き添いの日本人に説明して、説明してあげてください、と言ってステロイド外用薬を処方しました。

反省して、昨日の夜から、今朝のジョギング中に説明文を考えました。

昨日の患者さんが見てくださると良いのですが。

Skin has the defense mechanism against the invaders such as virus, bacteria, and insect.

If any particle, whether which is harmful or not, penetrates the skin, the switch of the defence mechanism is on.

As the results, skin rash and itching occur.

Your diagnosis is contact dermatitis. The treatment is steroid ointment.

Steroid weakens the defense mechanism.
